Death of a Microwave

Late Thursday morning our beloved Cherry-Red Microwave passed on to a greater existence. Cherry-Red was mournfully preceded by her sister Blender, and her loss will be monumentally felt by her brothers Toastation & the grill formally known as George Foreman. Services will be held Saturday at noon hosted graciously by Cherry-Red's cousin, Miss B.B.Q.Pitt.

Seriously though, I'm truly at a loss. I suppose I didn't realize how much we used our microwave until now. Cherry-Red was one of our first wedding presents & ironically the cause of our first married argument. Aaron was very surprised to discover my deep-seated philosophies on microwave maintenance. I set the precedent first thing that all items cooked in the microwave MUST be covered & if you make a mess it MUST be cleaned up IMMEDIATELY. I didn't even have to clean her out for this final viewing. She's remained spotless these last 2+ years. Still, I suppose she had a rough life. She went through cross-country shipping, 3 moves & became our primary cooking source in 2 kitchen-less basement apartments. Still I was very surprised to see her go & we really will miss her constant presence in our married life.

In other news, here's my day in a nutshell: lost keys, forgot phone, cleaned the aftermath of a child-induced confetti explosion, got locked out of my house, aimlessly wandered the town for 2 hours hoping my upstairs roommates would come home, gained entrance to my dwelling place & fell into my comfy spinning office chair to write it all down.

Oh dear rest, you are so welcomed....Goodnight friends.
