The Aftermath

I can honestly say that I’m glad that Halloween is a thing of the past (for this year, at least). It all just seems like a poor excuse for revelrous nonsense. People who seemed completely chaste the day before are freed from the fetters of restraint. Hoochie skirts & cross-dressing & advocation of violence abound. I find it very hard to believe that Heavenly Father looks down with his orange tinted glasses & says, “Oh, it’s OK. It’s only Halloween.” I can’t imagine His standards have changed at all. In fact, I know they haven’t & I can imagine He weeps bitterly to see standards broken & people transformed. Maybe though, it’s not that we've changed at all. Maybe it is simply that we have shown our true selves, where our hearts really lie. I think maybe that that is what is truly frightening about Halloween.
